After you do that, put a section break (next page) at the end of the content on the 5th page (go to Insert > Break > Section break (next page). Put your cursor in the header/footer of the 6th page and UN-check the box for "link to previous." Then go to Insert > Page numbers. When the page number is entered it will show up as 6.

Unfortunately, right now, there isn't any way around that, as Docs counts all the pages in the document, not just the numbered ones. The only workaround would be for you to manually insert the page count. To do that, delete the automatic page count in the header and after the first page number, manually insert a slash (or whatever other separator you want) and then type in the number 4.

I go to insert, click page numbers, click the first option, then click right-align, type my last name in front of the number then format it to Times New Roman size 12. That's pretty much what every tutorial has told me to do but that doesn't carry over to the other pages. The other pages just have "2", "3", etc. in Arial font with no last name.
