Understanding 4D -- The Tesseract

A tesseract is the four-dimensional version of a cube (4D) — the natural extension of a cube into an extra dimension beyond height, width, and depth. Just as a square is a 2D cube and a cube is 3D, a tesseract exists in four independent spatial directions.
